SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -- Sandy Springs police are searching for a man who they believe is behind three robberies that have taken place within four days. In one of the robberies the suspect shot the man he robbed.

During investigations of each crime, police said a connection is likely, as the incidents happened within a short amount of time and in a concentrated area. "What scares us is he's repetitive, he's within the same area and obviously he's violent because he shot one of the victims," said Capt. Steve Rose.

According to Capt.Rose, the first robbery was on April 9. A man was robbed at gunpoint atthe Extended Stay Hotel on Crestline Parkway. During the robbery, the victim's credit card was stolen, and later used at the Walmart Supercenter on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth.

Police retrieved surveillance video from the Walmart and released it to the public.

The second crime followed on April 13, when a man approached another man outside his home on Summer Drive. The suspect took the victim's television and wallet.

On April 14, there was a shooting at a neighboring home on Summer Drive, just down the street from the April 13 robbery. A male was shot with a pistol, but is recovering at Grady Hospital.

In all three cases, the suspect was said to be a thin man around 6 feet tall, with a medium to dark complexion. "The victims each described his conversation with them as starting off almost easy going, but he just quickly escalates to a very aggressive tone," Capt. Rose said.
