ATLANTA -- Falcons safety William Moore was granted a signature bond on Friday morning worth $2500, following his arrest on Thursday.
Moore ischarged with simple battery. He was still in jail asof Friday afternoon, according to Tracy Flanagan of the Fulton County Sheriff's Office.
According to Atlanta Police, officers responded to an argument between Moore and a woman on 9th Street in Midtown around noon.
The victim said Moore "threw her phone and grabbed her shoulder." He was arrested on the scene.
The Falcons released a statement on Thursday night:
"We are aware of the situation involving William Moore and are in the process of gathering more information. Because this is now a legal matter, the club will have no further comment at this time."
The Falcons recently re-signed Moore to a five-year, $30 million contract. The team drafted him as a second-round pick in 2009.
