Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Reds have activated pitcher Johnny Cueto from the 15-day disabled list in time to start Monday's game against the New York Mets.
Cueto, 27, has been sidelined with a strained right lat. He last started April 13 in a 3-1 loss against Pittsburgh, but was taken out of the game with one out in the fifth inning due to pain in his triceps.
The right-handed pitcher is 1-0 with a 2.60 ERA and has 18 strikeouts in three starts this season. He is 61-46 in 152 games over six seasons with the Reds.
He made two rehab starts for Single-A Dayton and was 1-1 with a 1.13 ERA over eight innings pitches.
The Reds also optioned infielder Neftali Soto to Triple-A Louisville.
