HAMPTON, Ga. -- A house in Hampton was heavily damaged a fire Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out just before 5:30 a.m. at a house on Graystone Drive, according to Henry County Fire Capt. Sabrina Puckett.

The flames were highest in the garage and attic of the one-story home. Puckett said fire officials searched the house after receiving a tip that someone may be inside. They later learned that the homeowner was at work when the blaze broke out; no one was injured.

Two nearby houses suffered heat damage, Puckett said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
