ATLANTA, Ga. - - The College Football Hall of Fame should open as scheduled in August 2014.11 Alive heard fromhall President and CEO John Stephenson as well as SteveHatchell of the National Football Foundation at an informational gathering Wednesday.
Admission will be $17.50 and there will be an emphasis on fans being able to personalize their visit. When they come through the door, they can indicate their college allegiance andthen they can customize their trip through the facility to focus on their favorites.
Analysts project that a half million people will go through the building annually, which sounds like a large number. But when you consider the nearby Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca Cola each get over two million and one million respectively, one can see that the projections might not be a reach.
Whether by design or just good fortune, the attraction will open the same year the new college football playoff system goes into effect and multiple Chic-Fil-A kickoff classic games at the Georgia Dome will attract huge crowds.
