ATLANTA -- A man was shot and killed in downtown Atlanta on Wednesday.
The shooting happened in the 500 block of Pryor Street, according to Officer John Chafee of the Atlanta Police Department.
A caller notified the police department just after 2:30, and said the shooter just walked up to the porch and shot one person.
Chafee said when officers arrived to the scene, they found a male in his mid-twenties who had been shot several times. An ambulance was requested, which took the man to Grady Hospital, where he died.
Investigators determined that the man was shot in the 500 block of Copper Street, then he ran on foot to Pryor Street, just one block away.
Chafee said homicide investigators will work to find more information on the shooting.
