ATLANTA -- A major welcome took place in Winder, home for a wounded solider who hasn't seen Georgia in over two years.
On Thursday evening, the city of Winder turned out to welcome army veteran Sam Walley, a double-amputee injured by an explosive device while serving in Afghanistan.
There was a ceremony at the First Baptist Church of Winder. The soldier Walley barely made it back home, and on Thursday, all he could talk about was just anxious he was to get back.
Obviously, Winder is happy to have him home. The welcome party was two years in the making.
