ATLANTA (WXIA) -- Brad Pitt made a surprise appearance Thursday afternoon at a preview showing of the apocalyptic film World War Z at the Regal Atlantic Station theater.
Pitt welcomed the audience to the film and thanked them for their support. He handed out a few "World War Z in Atlanta, GA" shirts to some lucky folks in the audience.
In the film, Pitt stars as Gerry Lane, a United Nations worker traveling the globe trying to find a way to contain and stop a zombie pandemic that is defeating armies and toppling governments around the world. The film is based on the best-selling 2006 novel by the same name, by Max Brooks.
World War Z opens at theaters across the nation on June 21.
