POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. -- The 11Alive morning show hit the road again Friday on its "This is Home" summer tour.

This time, the crew was in beautiful Powder Springs.

More than 100 people crowded the town's historic downtown to say good morning to Karyn Greer, Melissa Long and Elle Duncan. Elle, who grew up in Powder Springs and graduated from McEachern High School, had fun mingling and cheering with her alma mater's cheerleaders.

Several performance groups stopped by to give demonstrations, including dancers from Studio 4 the Arts and the young athletes of Cobb Martial Arts:

The McEachern High School Robotics club also visited and brought its award-winning robot, Captain Hook, which can throw a Frisbee, to the delight of everyone in attendance.

Local singer Grayson Payne performed for the crowd as well.

Powder Springs' proximity to the Silver Comet Trail make it a popular destination for walkers, runners and cyclists. The city has a network of trails winding through the wetlands, connecting residents to the Silver Comet Trail.

Powder Springs is the 8th stop on the summer hometown tour. Past visits include Douglasville, Dunwoody, Alpharetta, Downtown Atlanta, Norcross, Dallas and Stockbridge.
