MABLETON, Ga. -- A 4-year-old boy fell from the third story of a home inMableton Thursday.

The call came into police around 10:40 a.m. from a home on Megcole Way.

The home is only two stories, but sits on top of a garage. According to Cobb County Police Officer Mike Bowman, the child landed onthe concrete driveway and was airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.

The boywas taken from the home in critical condition but Bowman says he is stable.

When the fall happened, the boy's teenage sibling was babysitting him. Police are investigating reports the young child pushed a chair against the screen of the window before falling.

Lt. Daniel Dupree with Cobb County Fire says nothing replaces adult supervision and window locks for safety. He also says its important to keep furniture away from your windows. If you do open your windows often, he suggest guard rails, with a safety latch so you can still get out if there's a fire.
