LITHONIA, Ga. -- A woman died in a house fire on Timor Trail in DeKalb County Monday afternoon. Her name has not yet been released by DeKalb firefighters.

It happened just before 4 p.m. The fire was so hot the firefighters had to break windows to ventilate the building before they could start fighting it.

Several neighbors tried to rescue the woman trapped inside but could not reach her. They tried spraying the home with a garden hose, but it didn't help.

The woman was in poor health, and neighbors said she had an oxygen tank. Her family came to the scene after the fire was extinguished, but did not want to speak to the media.
