ATLANTA -- Former Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones is not happy with umpire Angel Hernandez and is encouraging fans via his Twitter account to join him in refusing to watch games worked by Hernandez.

Jones sent out several tweets Friday expressing his disdain for the umpire's calls.

Jones tweeted during the Braves' 5 to 4 loss to Philadelphia, "Didn't take Angel long to screw up the strike zone, did it??? Hang with em, Simba!!!"

USA TODAY noted that "Veteran umpire Angel Hernandez has worked well over 2,500 MLB games in his career, but he's got a reputation for inconsistency, and is one of the least-liked umps by players and fans alike ... As Hernandez was behind the plate for the Braves-Phillies game Friday night (which the Phillies won, 5-4), Jones couldn't hold his tongue."

Jones sent a second tweet Friday, which said, "I will not watch a game, any game, officiated by Angel Hernandez! His incompetence amazes me and I'm tired of MLB doing squat about it! Nite."

But Jones was not done. He concluded his Friday tweets by urging fans to join him in refusing to watch games worked by Hernandez.

"Our only recourse, as fans, is to turn the station whenever he, or his crew, are on the field. When viewer numbers go down, MLB will notice."

On Saturday, Jones tweeted he'd miss the Braves' Saturday game in Philadelphia, but still had umpiring on his mind.

"Y'all let me know how the 'MLB-how not to umpire' show goes in Philly tonite. I will be watching NASCAR in Daytona. Tweet me the mistakes!" Jones tweeted.
