ATLANTA -- Two people were shot early Tuesday morning outside the Magic City nightclub in downtown Atlanta.

Police received a call about the incident just before 2:30 a.m., when radio traffic said the suspects were last seen leaving the parking lot, heading northbound on Forsyth Street SW. They were driving a black Cadillac SUV.

Dispatchers said the caller reported that one victim was unresponsive and the other was barely moving.

One victim died at the scene from the gunshot wound, said Lt. Paul Guerrucci of the APD. The second victim was taken to Grady to have surgery. Guerrucci had no update on his condition.

He said according to witnesses, there were several shots fired and a good crowd of people around when the shooting took place.

A witness who had been at the nightclub, Kellye Barnes said, "It was about 30 people in the group."

Police will continue to talk to witnesses and investigate further.
