HALL COUNTY, Ga. -- Authorities are searching for an inmate who fled from a transport vehicle on Tuesday around noon.

According to Hall County, 64-year-old James Edward Cantrell escaped custody during a transfer from the Hall County courthouse to a transport vehicle.

Cantrell was able to conceal himself in the "alcove of a locked doorway" on the building. Authorities say he made away in a nearby work truck that had the keys in the ignition and he left the area.

Cantrell is described as a six foot tall African-American male, he weighs about 205 pounds and was last seen wearing an orange jumpsuit. He stole a red Ford pick-up truck with GA tag: 9930 QK.
