COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- Two men have been convicted and charged with multiple burglaries in the metro Atlanta area.

The two men were convicted of the April 6 burglary of a maintenance building at the Post Crest Apartments near Cumberland Mall.

43-year-old Lester Thompkins and 42-year-old Fred Tony Green were sentenced to eight years, each, during a bench trail on Tuesday.

According to Cobb DA, John Pursley, the two took tools and other equipment from the apartment complex's maintenance building.

"An investigation by the Fulton County burglary task force has resulted in numerous counts pending against Mr. Thompkins and Mr. Green in Fulton County," Pursley said.

"This burglary just happened to be committed in Cobb County."
