ATLANTA -- One person was rescued from a burning house in northwest Atlanta Tuesday night.
According to Atlanta Fire and Rescue spokeswoman Janet Ward, the fire broke out in the 1300 block of Northwest Drive in Atlanta shortly before 10:30 p.m.
Crews arrived to find intense fire and smoke coming from the home, Ward said. Firefighters pulled one person from the house and worked to resuscitate the person until a pulse was restored.
In cardiac arrest at the time, that victim was taken to Grady, and was in critical condition through Wednesday morning.
Of the firefighters at the blaze, four sustained minor burns, Ward said. One was taken to Grady for treatment while three others were treated at the scene.
The hospitalized firefighter has been released, but AFRD released no name for him.
