ATLANTA -- Low temperatures are forecast to get down into the low 60s Sunday night in the city of Atlanta, and in the upper 50s for the north Georgia mountain towns.
That is according to 11Alive meteorologist Allison Chinchar.
"The Atlanta record for Sunday night/Monday morning is 63 degrees," Chinchar said Friday.
Temperatures will get even colder in parts of the upper Midwest and northern plains states.
Cities such as Minneapolis, Duluth, Bismark and Green Bay will see lows in the low to mid 40s Saturday night. Other cities such as Chicago, Des Moines and St. Louis will be flirting with record lows Saturday night as well.
It is not out of the question that some rural communities in Minnesota and North Dakota could see lows fall below 40 degrees -- in July!
