AUSTELL, Ga. -- A homeless man accused of beating an elderly Austell resident to death has been re-indicted by a Cobb County Grand Jury.

Thomas Duane Sparks was arrested on Dec. 19, 2011, a day after prosecutors say he killed 71-year-old Joseph Stahl inside his home.

Sparks, 49, was first indicted in March 2012 on four charges. He now faces charges of malice murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, armed robbery and three counts of felony murder.

The case is set to go to trial on Sept. 23.
