ELLENWOOD, Ga -- The owner of a business in Henry County is feeling like he is being picked on. The business has been hit twice by smash and grabs thieves in a little over a month. Police believe the same thieves were responsible both times, and may be responsible for two other break-ins.
Naveen Kotha, who owns the Shell gas station on Fairview Road in Ellenwood, said he is very frustrated. "This is the second time but the second time they got the ATM," he said.
Three suspects are seen on surveillance video at the store smashing the front door to get inside on Wednesday morning. Once inside they broke a cash machine off its mounts and carried it out of the store to a pickup truck.
Henry County police said the truck is a 1994 or 1995 step side Chevy 1500 Z71 extended cab truck. The truck has damage to a rear passenger tail light.
Police believe the same suspects may be responsible for a smash and grab attempt at the same store in August. Kotha's store suffered $40,000 in damage when the thieves backed a U-Haul truck into his store but failed to remove the cash machine.

Henry County Police Sgt. Joey Smith said the same suspects might be connected to an attempted cash machine theft at a CVS Pharmacy in McDonough and an attempted theft at a Walgreen Pharmacy in Stockbridge. "We just haven't got what we need to successfully put these guys in jail," he said.

All four smash and grabs happened since July 30, 2013. In August police arrested Carmen Peaker, of Clayton County, and charged her with being an accessory to burglary. Sgt. Smith said she is the girlfriend of one of the suspects in the smash and grabs, but so far, she hasn't helped in any more arrests.
