ATHENS, Ga. -- A UGA student and a former Gainesville State University student have been sentenced after pleading guilty to running a fake ID ring.

Investigators say they were the masterminds behind the ring. They manufactured and sold fake IDs containing unauthorized government seals to hundreds of students.

They sold for between $50 and $100 a piece. The two defendants received two to four months in jail and five years probation.
