REDAN, Ga. -- A portion of Covington Highway in DeKalb County was shut down Tuesday morning due to an accident involving two pedestrians.

The two people were hit by a car at around 6 a.m. near the intersection with Panola Road in Redan.

DeKalb County dispatchers did not immediately know the extent of the victims' injuries.

The road has since reopened; the accident scene has been moved to a parking lot on Covington Highway just east of Panola Road.
