ATLANTA -- Three men accused of robbing a pedestrian and a Kroger customer overnight are still on the run Tuesday morning.

Atlanta Police Capt. Todd Coyt said the incident began with the pedestrian robbery. Three men took items from the victim on Caroline Street and then ran. The victim was not injured.

About an hour later, the same three suspects robbed someone in the parking lot of a Kroger on Moreland Avenue, according to Coyt.

Police spotted the suspects driving a gold Lexus and followed them into DeKalb County. The suspects crashed their car into a mailbox on River Road and then ran into the nearby woods.

Coyt said one of the suspects pointed a weapon at a pursuing police officer, who fired back. No one was hit.

The suspects have not been identified.
