ATLANTA --We have a nice little roller coaster ride we are going to go through this weekend as that cold air from the north comes into the state later tonight.
The good news is that the air will be modified to the point that we won't be seeing highs in the 30's and lows in the teens like parts of the south will.
What we will be seeing is crazy daily temperature fluctuations and a lot of rain through early next week!
Tonight and Saturday
Tonight the cold front will move into the state and bring with it some scattered showers and a few t-storms.
Most will be on the weak side but there is a slim chance some of them could be on the strong side, mainly in the NW sections of the state.
That cold front will slide in tonight and give us about a 30-40 degree temperature drop overnight, so when you wake up in the morning expect it to be in the 40's with a few showers.
There will be some on and off shower through the day and temps will remain in the lower 50's.
The cold front that moves through overnight tonight will try to come back on Sunday but thanks to the wedge that will set up Sunday morning, the cold air won't budge.
What this means is that we will stay in the lower 50's with on and off shower throughout the day on Sunday.
There could be a few area of sleet in the far NE Georgia mountains Sunday afternoon, but just rain around the rest of the area.
Sunday will be an total indoor hangout and watch NBC type of day.
Another cold front will approach the state Monday that will again bring rain to the state, the wild thing about this one is that as it approaches we will warm up into the lower 60's and upper 50's.
The the rain will come in the afternoon and then temps will begin to fall again!! That will set the stage for Tuesday.
Tuesday will be a lot like Sunday in the sense that it will be cold and rainy.
Highs on Tuesday will only make it into the upper 40's and we will see rain on and off in the morning. By the afternoon skies will begin to clear and we will see the temps start to fall as cold Canadian air settles in.
Wednesday will be a chilly but dry day with highs only in the 40's!
