New Year's Day will be a pretty nice day. We will still have some stubborn clouds around. There will be some breaks in the clouds at times to allow some sunshine to break through. Temperatures will be in the mid 50s.

Changes arrive Thursday as some showers move in. It looks like it will be earlier in the day on Thursday for the rain. The showers will push out later in the afternoon and evening. It's a good thing that the rain is moving out quickly because much colder air comes in Thursday night into Friday. As the rain moves out and the cold air moves in Thursday night, some parts of the north Georgia mountains could see a few snow flurries. We will start Friday morning with temperatures in the mid 20s. We will struggle to get up to 42 degrees Friday afternoon.

We will have more sunshine for the weekend, but it will remain cold!
