ATLANTA -- Police have confirmed a child, who was in a truck when it was stolen, has been found and is safe.

The truck was stolen at around 6:35 p.m. Wednesday after Michael Terrell stopped by a house on Essex Avenue to drop off some furniture. Terrell left his 8-year-old son, Michael Jr., in the truck with the engine running.

A man jumped in the truck and drove away with Michael Jr. still inside.

The child was found at 3250 Benjamin E. Mays Dr. an hour later. No injuries were reported.

The truck has not yet been found. It is a black GMC truck with rims and tinted windows. The Georgia tag is KAT46.
