ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- The Atlanta Fire Hockey Club and The Cooler will host a weekend hockey tournament to raise money to send pee-wee hockey players to Quebec for an invitation-only tournament in February.

The 6th Annual Atlanta Freedom Cup will begin with one game on Friday night and continue through Monday the 20th at The Cooler in Alpharetta.

The fundraiser will help families pay to send their kids to the Pee Wee World Championship in Quebec City. Pee-wee level hockey is for kids ages 11, 12 and some turning 13.

To help with fundraising efforts outside of the tournament, check out the Atlanta Fire Facebook page.

The Quebec tournament is a big deal, since it draws more than 2,250 competitors from over 15 countries.

Invitations for the Quebec Pee-Wee Tournament are extended to youth hockey organizations that have established a strong commitment to kids and sportsmanship.

Admission to the Atlanta Freedom Cup is free and anybody to who enjoys hockey.

During the tournament, the Atlanta Fire will sell baked goods to raise money for the Quebec trip. They're also open to donations.
