Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Braves have signed pitcher Freddy Garcia to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Garcia spent time with the Orioles and Braves in 2013. He went 3-5 with a 5.77 ERA in 11 games with Baltimore before being shipped to Atlanta on Aug. 23.
The 37-year-old right-hander went 1-2 with a 1.65 ERA in six appearances with the Braves, and made one start in the postseason.
A two-time All Star, Garcia is 156-108 with a 4.15 ERA in 376 career games (357 starts) with the Mariners, White Sox, Yankees, Phillies, Tigers, Orioles and Braves. In the postseason, he is 6-3 with a 3.26 ERA in 11 starts and won the 2005 World Series with the White Sox.
