SOCHI, RUSSIA -- After months of build up, the U.S. and Russia didn't disappoint in their pivotal Pool A meeting in Sochi.

After a back and forth game that included lead changes, disallowed goals and tense moments, the U.S.' T.J. Oshie delivered his team a victory by scoring a decisive shootout goal past Russia's Sergei Bobrovsky.

The win improves the U.S.' record to 1-1-0-0, which is good enough for five points and first place in Pool A. At 1-0-1-0, Russia is now in second place with four points.
