ATLANTA (WXIA) -- Georgia Lottery officials said Sunday there was no winning ticket sold in Saturday night's Powerball lottery game. As a result, the jackpot for Wednesday night's drawing has swelled to $400 million for a single winning ticket.
That figure would be paid out in an annuity over 29 years, but if a winner chose the cash option, he or she would be able to take home a single lump-sum payment of $227.8 million.

Powerball is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the US Virgin Islands. The odds of matching all the numbers in the game is about 1 in 175 million. Each ticket costs $2 to play.
Tuesday night's Mega Millions jackpot has also increased to $154 million after no one matched all the numbers drawn in that game Friday night.
