ATLANTA -- An overnight shooting has left a teenage boy in the hospital with the suspect still on the loose.

The shooting took place near Walter Leonard Parks Middle School on Windsor Street in southwest Atlanta.

The victim, 17-year-old Chrishawn Grice, was shot several times in the back and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he is currently in critical condition. He told Atlanta police he'd been shot by four men, one of whom stole his aunt's car. Grice said he approached the suspected thief and asked him why he stole the car, and that's when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the teen.

Police believe the shooter or shooters are driving a black Nissan Armada.

Atlanta police spokeswoman K.Y. Jones said Grice was shot in the right elbow, under the left armpit and in the chest.
