SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. -- A trio of suspects abandoned their car and are still at large after fleeing an attempted traffic stop Wednesday morning.
Sandy Springs Police tried to pull over a black Pontiac Bonneville on New Northside Drive at Interstate 285 west at around midnight. The car had a broken brake light, according to dispatchers, but it also matched the description of a vehicle involved in a crime in Dunwoody.
The suspects stopped the car and then ran. At least one person was taken into custody, but the remaining suspects are on the loose.
Police said they recovered a purse from inside the car. The purse matched the description of one stolen in a robbery in DeKalb County Tuesday night.
Investigators and K-9 units from Cobb County were brought to the scene to help Sandy Springs Police investigate.
The suspects have not yet been identified.
