ROSWELL, Ga. - Police in Roswell are investigating an attempted kidnapping of a 12-year-old girl on Friday morning.

According to the Roswell Police Department, the girl was walking to her bus stop on Old Holcomb Bridge Road around 7:40 a.m. She saw a black Honda parked at a daycare center. As the girl walked by the daycare, the driver of the Honda pulled out and stopped next to her. He then demanded that she get in the car. The girl said she started to walk backwards away from the car and it pulled away.

A Good Samaritan saw what happened and escorted the child to her bus stop, police said. The witness told the bus driver what happened and the investigation began after the child arrived at school.

The suspect was driving an older model, four-door Honda with a red sticker near the gas cap, police said. He is described as a black male in his 30s. He has dark skin, short hair and was clean shaven, police said.

Roswell police are asking the witness to contact them.
