ATLANTA, Ga-- A car fire just after 8:00 Monday morning blocked all lanes of I-85 southbound.
Photos from eyewitnesses show a grey four-door sedan rear-ended a white car before it burst into flames. A HERO unit blocked three lanes of traffic as a huge cloud of black smoke rose from the burning car. Firefighters doused the flames within minutes of arrival.
DeKalb County police dispatch told 11Alive News there we no injuries.
As smoke continued to pour from the charred car remains, traffic inched by in the outer lanes. The Georgia Department of Transportation expected the accident site to be completely clear by 9:30 am.
