COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- A 79-year-old Cobb County woman has become an overnight sensation after the first selfie she's ever taken has been shared with nearly 3 million people.

Joan Bennett was on her daily walk on the Silver Comet trail in Smyrna when she bumped into media mogul Tyler Perry.

"This person passed me on my left. He said, 'I've been doing my best to catch you.' And I said, 'You're doing fine,'" Bennett said.

The 79-year-old cancer survivor says she didn't immediately recognize Perry. She did, however, launch into an impromptu sermon about the importance of faith and of regular exercise.

After nearly 10 minutes of conversation, the pair finally asked each other their names.

"I looked at him and said, 'What is your name?' And he said, 'Tyler Perry.' And I said, 'THE TYLER PERRY?' And he said, 'Yes, ma'am."

Bennett says Perry was gracious and humble. He asked her permission to take a photograph together, which he later posted on his Facebook page. The photo was liked by nearly 3 million people.

"He is a very impressive young man. It was a delight for me," Bennett said.
