CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -- The Cartersville Police Departmentis asking for help from the public in identifying a robbery suspect of the Kay Jewelers in Cartersville.

The store which is located at 450 East Main Street was robbed on Wednesday, October 31 around 6:30 p.m.Police said the suspect asked to see a one-carat Leo diamond ring.

An employee handed over the ring, valued at $7,000. The suspect immediately fled the Kay Jewelers with the ring in hand. The suspect left in a four-door silver sedan.

Police described the suspect as a black male, 5'11" tall, thin build, wearing black jeans, a white t-shirt, a black jacket and black glasses with a square frame.

The man gave his name as "Mike" to other locations. He said told the stores he wanted to get engaged before Thanksgiving, police said. In other incidents, the car is believed to be a Nissan Sentra. The year is unknown.
