UPDATE (December 20, 2012) ATLANTA -- Laura Hamilton was captured by the US Marshals and Atlanta police on December 17, 2012. Deputy US Marshal Eric Heinze said Hamilton was located after they received a tip from someone who saw her featured on 11 Alive's Fugitive of the Week.

Hamilton was charged with Aggravated Assault after she pointed a gun at a man and stole his trailer. Heinze said the trailer was recovered when Hamilton was arrested.

ATLANTA -- Laura Hamilton is 11Alive's Fugitive of the Weekfor December 5, 2012. Hamilton, 52, is wanted by theU.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force andAtlanta Police for Aggravated Assault and Theft by Taking.

Hamilton is known to hang out in a neighborhood near Bolton Road and Hollywood Road on the city's west side. That's where police said she committed her latest of many crimes. "Miss Hamilton has an extensive criminal history to include over 30 arrests, anything from narcotics violations to fraud to cruelty to children," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Eric Heinze.

The latest incident happened at home at 2134 Main Street on November 3, 2012. Police said Hamilton walked into the home and threatened the owner with a gun, poking him three times in the chest with the weapon. "Miss Hamilton produced a handgun and advised the victim 'If you call the police, I'll come back and shoot you'," Heinze said.

While Hamilton was inside the house, police said two unidentified men, who were with her, were outside stealing the homeowner's cargo trailer. It was chained to a tree, but the two men cut the chain, backed up a pickup truckand hitched the trailer to it. Police said Hamilton jumped into the truck and all three took off. Police said the trailer and its contents were worth about $8,000.
