ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Police Special Victims Unit has released a sketch of a man who reportedly tried to convince a young girl to get into his vehicle.

Atlanta Police spokesman John Chafee said on March 4 at around 8 a.m., a 12-year-old girl was waiting at a bus stop near the intersection of Jonesboro and Constitution roads in southeast Atlanta when a man drove up in a white box truck and told her to get into the truck. The female refused and began to walk away. The male exited the vehicle and again told her to get inside. The female then ran away and the male drove off in the box truck.

Police worked with the girl and a Georgia Bureau of Investigation sketch artist to come up with a composite.

The suspect is described as a thin white male, approximately 60 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with blue eyes, brown and grey hair and a grey goatee or beard. The vehicle is described as a white box truck with no markings or letters on it. It is dirty and has papers on the dashboard.

Police say this case does not appear related to any of last week's three attempted abductions that occurred around schools.

There was also an attempted abduction in Roswell the first week in March. A 12-year-old girl waiting at a bus stop said a man demanded she get into his vehicle.

Anyone with information about the suspect sketch is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477
