JAMES ISLAND, S.C. -- The brother of Falcons wide receiver Roddy White died of a gunshot wound early Saturday morning.
The shooting took place outside a James Island nightclub. After being shot, Tyrone Moore, 21, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Officials arrived at the Lake House Club shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday morning. According to reports, several gunshots were fired after an altercation.
Both the Charleston County Sheriff's Office and the Charleston County Coroner's Office are investigating the incident.
A motive for the shooting is not known.
Like Moore, White is a James Island native.
In a statement released Saturday evening, Falcons owner Arthur Blank said: "We were all saddened to learn about the death of Roddy's brother Tyrone. Roddy is part of our Falcons family, and families stand together in difficult circumstances. Roddy and his family can count on our support through this very trying time. On behalf of the entire Falcons organization, we extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to Roddy, his mother, and their entire family."
