FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- An audio tape of a 911 phone call from the home of megachurch pastor Creflo Dollar has been released by police in Fayette County.
In the call to Fayette County 911 recorded early Friday, Dollar's daughter is heard telling the dispatcher that her father had attacked her over grades and whether or not she could go to a party.
According to a police report, Dollar choked his 15-year-old daughter, threw her to the ground, punched her and hit her with a shoe. The report said the responding officer noted a scratch on the daughter's neck near her throat. The daughter told the officer her father had scratched her during the fight.
Dollar was taken into custody on charges of simple battery and cruelty to children. He was transported to Fayette County Jail. Dollar posted $5,000 bond after a first appearance in magistrate court Friday.
On Sunday, the megachurch pastor took to his pulpitat World Changers Church International in College Park to discuss the issue, saying, "all is well in the Dollar household."
"The truth is that a family conversation with our youngest daughter got emotional, emotions got involved, and things escalated from there," he said. "The truth is, she was not choked, she was not punched."
Dollar told his congregation that the facts in the case would eventually come to light.
