MARIETTA, Ga. -- The Marietta Police Department is making room for a crowd seven times the usual size for a gun safety seminar.

It's at Marietta Middle School instead of the usual place at city hall.

Since President Obama's push for stricter gun control, we've seen big crowds at gun stores in Cobb County for weeks now.

Earlier this month, the line for a gun show at the Cobb Civic Center was wrapped around the building. Applications for concealed weapon permits in Cobb are at a six-year high.

All of that combined has created record demand for the gun safety class.

Marietta Police usually hold two to three seminars like this a year that draw an average of 100 people.

700 people signed up for this one, and police told us they will make room for everyone.
