ATLANTA -- It's almost time to name the twin pandas born July 15 at Zoo Atlanta.

In accordance with Chinese tradition, the pandas will not be named until 100 days after their birth.

Zoo Atlanta is hosting a contest to decide on names for the twin boys. The five sets of finalists were announced Thursday. They were chosen by members of the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in China.

* Mei Lun and Mei Hua
Meaning: Lun Lun's twin cubs born in the U.S.

* Mei Lun and Mei Huan
Meaning: Something indescribably beautiful and magnificent

* Tian Lun and Tian Le
Meaning: Joy of family life, or family happiness

* Lan Tian and Bi Shui
Meaning: Blue sky and clear water

* Da Lan and Xiao Lan
Meaning: Bigger one and smaller one of Atlanta-born twins

Online voting for the cubs' names begins Wednesday, Oct. 9. The winners will be revealed during the naming ceremony on Oct. 23. Get the details at Zoo Atlanta's website.
