CONYERS, Ga. -- Multiple transformer problems across the city of Conyers caused power outages Tuesday morning.
Kim Lucas with the Conyers Police Department said the issues began at about 5:30 a.m. She said the outages forced the police department to begin operating on back-up generators at the time.
Lucas said police responded to multiple alarm calls caused by the outages, and that most of the affected locations were along Georgia 138 in the Old Town Conyers area and near the Conyers Police Department. Traffic signals were knocked out of commission by the outagesas well.
Georgia Power reports that 46 customers were affected by the outages, and that repairs were expected to take much of the day.
