ATLANTA -- An Atlanta neighborhood is happy to see problems with a sinkhole has finally been repaired.
Neighbors contacted Commuter Dude when the issue persisted for four to five months.
City crews fixed a sewage problem beneath East Brookhaven Drive, but left a metal plate over the opening. The sinkhole beneath continued to grow, and the asphalt around the plate continued to crack.
Commuter Dude asked the city's Department of Watershed Management to address the problem, and a crew came out on a rainy Good Friday to fill the hole with cement. They returned a few days later to place asphalt on top and complete the fix.
