LINCOLN COUNTY, Ga. – The state's winningest high school football coach faces charges of making terroristic threats and battery after he allegedly threatened to kill someone at a board of education meeting.
Retired Lincoln County Coach Larry Campbell was arrested Tuesday night and released on bond.
Police said Campbell confronted someone who was criticizing Campbell's son Brian – who is the school system's superintendent.
According to investigators, Larry Campbell allegedly grabbed the victim by his shirt collar and said he'd kill him.
Campbell is still on the school's payroll until the end of the year.
