ATLANTA -- Rebecca Hubbard could not wait to celebrate.

"I'm here today to finally get my hands on my husband," she said about why she brought her whole family to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Her husband, a Navy sailor named Ryan, returned from Afghanistan Monday after nearly 300 days.

"He really, really loves his children," Hubbard said.

Ryan and Rebecca Hubbard got married last June. She had three kids from a previous marriage. He had four. After their wedding, he was sent overseas.

On Monday, his return brought six of his seven children to the airport. The in-laws came too. They waited through a four-hour delay for his arrival.

When he returned, everybody hugged.

"My life is complete right now," said Rebecca Hubbard. "He's been a missing piece for a while."
