BROOKHAVEN, Ga. -- Four people face charges after a 23-year-old man was gunned down at a Brookhaven apartment complex.
The shooting happened at around noon Thursday at the Parke Town North Apartments in the 1300 block of North Cliff Valley Way.
Brookhaven Police Maj. Brandon Gurley said the victim, Justin Acevedo, got into an argument with 18-year-old Juan Carlos Ramirez. Ramirez then pulled out a gun and shot Acevedo in the chest.
Acevedo was taken to an Atlanta hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Ramirez and three other people ran from the scene, but were tracked down and arrested. Gurley said police also recovered the gun they believe was used to kill Acevedo.
Ramirez was charged with murder, marijuana possession and firearm possession. A second suspect, 21-year-old Ileanna Martinez, was charged with tampering with evidence, giving a false name and marijuana possession. Two more people -- 18-year-old Petra Pineda Cortez and 22-year-old Francisco Munoz -- were charged with obstruction and disorderly conduct.
All four suspects were taken to the DeKalb County Jail.
