ATLANTA -- Here's a perfect way to spend this Friday night -- enjoy a pint at an Irish pub while helping to cure kids' cancer.
St. Baldrick's is holding a head shaving event at Fado Irish Pub in Buckhead.
The non-profit is second only to the federal government in how much money it raises.
Seventy local people are getting their heads shaved today. One of them is Dr. Barun Brahma, a pediatriac neurosurgeon at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. He also happens to have a fabulous head of hair.
Doctor Brahma laughs, "I've gotten more compliments about my hair in the past four weeks now that I know I'm going to shave it."
Brahma, who treats many children with cancerous brain tumors, says, "I'll be proud of my shaved head. It really is to have solidarity with all the kids that I treat."
Brahma is having one of his patients shave his head for him.
Shaving begins at 2:15 p.m. Dr. Brahma takes the stage at 5:30 p.m.
Doctor Brahma is trying to raise $40,000 and he hasn't hit his goal yet. You can make donations at the event, or click here to make a donation.
