Authorities have arrested the man they believe is responsible for multiple bank robberies around metro Atlanta.
Peter McCutcheon, who was wanted for bank robberies in Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, City of Atlanta and Gwinnett, was arrested by Chamblee police Monday afternoon.
According to Sandy Springs Police, McCutcheon initially gave police a false name until confronted by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, who positively identified the suspect.
McCutcheon was questioned by detectives before being taken to the Fulton County jail.
On Saturday, police say McCutcheon robbed two banks. The first robbery took place at the Wells Fargo on 2204 Peachtree Road in Cumming while the second robbery took place at the Fidelity Bank on Ponce de Leon in Atlanta.
Preliminary information showed both banks were robbed in similar fashion as the perpetrator entered the bank, produced a note and proceeded to rob it.
