GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Gwinnett County Public schools is holding a career fair for credentialed teachers on March 22 at the Gwinnett Center. Gwinnett County is expecting to have 172,000 students enrolled in the upcoming school year and are planning to hire 850 teachers to accommodate the increase in the student population.
Qualified candidates must be credentialed teachers or must receive their certification by August 2014. The district is looking to hire teachers skilled in math, science, IT programming, engineering, computer sciences and gifted education. Gwinnett County Schools are especially interested in hiring special education teachers, endorsements in English for speakers of other languages (ESOL), and speech and language pathologists. The introduction of the dual language immersion schools to Gwinnett County's comprehensive foreign language program has created a particular need for French and Spanish teachers who are highly proficient in fluency and vocabulary.
