ATLANTA -- There have been two robberies at the Edgewood Shopping Plaza so far this year -- that's almost as many as the area saw all year in 2013.

The number of carjackings is even more disturbing, last year there were none. This year, there have been three in the area alone.

Just a few miles from her house, one woman thought she was safe at the popular shopping plaza in the middle of the day.

The victim does not want us to show her face, because the men who carjacked her have all of her personal information, but says she wanted other people to shop in the Edgewood area to be on guard.

"If you look up, I'm going to shoot you," she said.

From the second she saw her attackers, she didn't resist.

"So I said, take everything, and I just looked face down," she said.

The carjackers took her purse, her phone, her car, even the glasses off her face.

When she drove in to the lower level parking garage at the Edgewood Plaza, she thought twice.

But in the middle of the day on a Saturday, she assumed she was safe.

"It's 12 noon, it's fine, it's not going to happen to me, so I pulled in," she said.

She says she parked near the elevator, where she could see a security camera, but that didn't stop her attackers.

"All I saw was someone running at me with their fist. They had been hiding two cars of the other side," she said.

Once she hit the ground, she says she was behind the rear tires of the car.

Instinct kicked in and she rolled out of the way. If she hadn't moved, she says they would have run right over her.

"I don't think I would be sitting here. They had no other way. They weren't going to get out of the car, pick me up, and move me. They were trying to put it in reverse to run me over,' she said.

The Atlanta Police Department is working with Target and the owners of the shopping center to try and identify the thieves, but the security cameras didn't catch their faces, and all of the electronics that would help catch them have already been disabled.

"They absolutely knew what they were doing," she said.

She and her husband say they're committed to finding the men who did this, and getting them off the street... but say safety measures have to improve in that area.
